He ups our healthcare premiums and pays our doctors nothing. This years contract that was negotiated by UHC (United Healthcare) is paying doctors 30% less. This decrease puts doctors practices at risk making it difficult to cover operating costs. So what does this mean for the doctors? They drop UHC. What does this mean for my family? That we have to leave doctors that we are comfortable with ones we trust to find less than adequate doctors to serve us. I refuse. He rakes in over 1 billion dollars. Net Worth. To make money of that amount on medical care is beyond evil. "Of the approximately 600 doctors in network, nearly half have dropped UHC" Quoted from SJ Mercury. Tyler Mason states "Our obligation is to put together a network that's comparable to the one before the merger. It wont be exactly the same" Also quoted from SJ Merc.
How about putting together a package that far exceeds what crap healthcare coverage we have now. How about being the first healthcare provider to stop lining their own pockets and doing what it was comprised to do. Help cover medical costs. How much of my 1500$ premium each month actually goes to cover our medical costs. 18K a year just for our family. Now lets times that by a small company say..... of 500 people... thats 8,500,000 dollars. Just for One small company of 500 people.
Today I had had enough. I left my PCP today furious, that yet again I am losing another doctor. Every doctor we have, PCP for myself, my husband, both my kids. My Obstetrician and My hospital. Why should my family have to make all these changes so that Willie Bob can line his pockets?!?! I refuse. We will write as many letters as it takes. I will call Apple HR and UHC every day if I have to until Apple changes health plans, or UHC gets wise.

Thanks Kelly for the research. I actually went on to the UHC website and my doctor is no longer on it either. However, O'Connor hospital is still a UHC provider. As well as San Jose Medical. I guess for me O'connor would do just as fine as Good Sam. It does suck though to have to change your primary care physician. Fortunately, I still have coverage under my husband which means I can still go to my Primary Care Physician when I need to and use UHC's cheaper co-pay for other things like a good counselor. I hope you get the end results you want. I would love it if my doctor went back into contract with UHC.
