Just a way to keep up to date on Da Byrnes and all they do. If you dont want to hear about my kids, well then this isn't the blog for you! :D But we do do a TON of very interesting and fun things, so if you stick around you might enjoy the ride.

Chicken Hatchery Tragedy
Ok so we've had somewhat of a chicken tragedy last night. I got up
around 3am to check on the eggs and it seems that we had a temp spike
to 107. I"m not sure how long the spike was for or how it even
happened, but of course at that temp the heat will bake the eggs. I
wanted a thermostat on the incubator, but we wont go there as to why
its not there. We were doing so well. I'm actually feeling
horrible and a bit teary. I feel like I've just single handedly
killed a dozen chickens. I will forever be known as the chicken
killer. Of course I'm not sure if they are officially gone. But my
best guess is yes they are. If they are I can't let them incubate
much longer as they will eventually explode. So pray for my mortal
soul and that God doesn't strike my husband down for not putting in a
thermostat and killing his chicks. :) But it seems we are back to the drawing board!
